JUNE EVENT | HOW TO GET THE KILLER CREATIVE IDEA

Ideas. In this industry, we're only as good as the ideas we or our agencies generate.
But how do you come up with that killer creative idea, and how do you spot one when you come across it?

At June's event leaders in the field looked at everything from how to run a brainstorm (live) and tone your creative muscles, to how to overcome creative block and where to look for inspiration.

She Says June was like an energy drink for digital types.

"How to get that killer idea" was the theme and it started with understanding the psychology of creativity, thanks to Dawn Sillett from Creative Mastery. We learnt all about how our serotonin and cortisol levels fluctuate during the creative cycle, and how it's OK to have your lightning-bolt moment whilst on the loo! Next up was 9 fantastic tips from experienced Planning Director, Miranda Ross of AMV BBDO fame, who talked us through how she develops insights for writing the most inspiring briefs. She Says committee lead and Profero Creative Director, Liz Sivell, along with Maureen Cuddihy from LBi, then led the world's biggest brainstorm.

Almost 70 girls split into 6 groups and all had to meet the brief: How would you promote yourself to the creative industry? The output was electric and we haven't seen as many smiles in one She Says room ever before! From removing toilet rolls and writing your name on them to stalking your MD, the creativity was effervescent. Big thanks to [althogether] for such a great space too.
