COme and see for yourself...

We won't stand around moaning about men and bashing cardboard cut-outs of them. But we will be discussing the best ways to get into the industry, and how to get to the top of it. We want to talk about burning issues not bras, with a glass of wine or four and a sausage roll along the way.

AUGUST EVENT | ANOTHER RESIZE, IS IT? INTEGRATION IN ADVERTISING

Yet another heated debate in August where we discussed the fact that doing simple display advertising online simply doesn’t cut it anymore. We have agreed that:
* All agencies need to be briefed at the same time.
* A good idea can come from any agency and mediated by the client who needs to have solid understanding of all channels. However, this is difficult to achieve by the way agencies and clients are currently structured. A better example comes from the US where an agency holds one P&L and can do great work for any channel.
* By great integrated work here we definitely don’t mean coping a poster and putting it online as some brands still do but working with the same proposition.
* The consumer is now part of the mix.

Our speakers were:

Ching Har Wong - Senior Online Marketing Manager at Barclays
Ching says: Integration is consistency of message to the customer throughout all channels used to deliver it. But don’t necessarily assume ALT should lead.

Michelle Lonsdale - Client Services Director at Good Technology
Michelle says: Integration is better collaboration between agencies. But don’t forget that users are now in control.

Julie Seal – Senior Copywriter at Draftfcb
Julie says: Integration is dropping the ego. And you should think beyond press, tv and sites. There’s a whole world out there with multiple touch points that still need to be explored.

Thanks to DARE for providing us with a great venue, drinks and nibbles and thanks everyone for coming and for such a fun night.
